February 4, 2010 State of the Community Breakfast	The Governmental Affairs Committee of the Jacksonville•Onslow Chamber of Commerce will assist citizens in getting the most up-to-date information at the Fifteenth Annual State of the Community Breakfast.  This event will be held at 8:00am at the New River Officers’ Club.  The State of the Community Breakfast is sponsored by Jones-Onslow EMC and will focus on economic development, education, and the impact of collaborative partnerships between the Chamber and other community organizations. Following the presentations there will be a question and answer period.   Reservations can be made by calling the Chamber office at 347-3141 or emailing lgowan@jacksonvilleonline.org or jbowen@jacksonvilleonline.org.  The cost is $12.00 for Chamber members and $17.00 for non-members.
February 5, 2010 Census Road Show	Join us here at the Commerce Center from 10:00 am to noon to learn more about the 2010 Census during the Census Road Show!     As a resident of Onslow County, no matter where your permanent home of record may be, it is very important that you fill out your Census form in Onslow County. If you drive on the roads, shop at the stores, work or attend schools here, your life in Onslow County WILL be affected by the 2010 Census. Let’s make sure it’s affected in the most positive way possible!    Filling out your census form will not change your home of record or your tax information, and none of your personal information will be shared. February 12, 2010 Business Alarm Focus Group	All business owners in the city of Jacksonville are invited to attend a focus group on Friday, February 12 at 10:00 am at the Commerce Center.  Representatives from the Jacksonville Police Department will be here to discuss proposed price changes to how business alarm systems are registered and gain input from business owners.     To RSVP for this event, please call the Chamber at 347-3141 or email czimmerman@jacksonvilleonline.org.
March 5 and 6, 2010 2010 Business Expo: "Business Treasure Hunt"	The Jacksonville•Onslow Chamber of Commerce is excited to once again bring you the best Business Expo in Eastern North Carolina! This Expo provides an exceptional networking opportunity with other businesses, and it’s a great way for consumers to experience what Jacksonville•Onslow businesses have to offer!   Come see over 100 local businesses and restaurants as they reach out to you, the Eastern North Carolina consumer. Large, small, retail, wholesale, manufacturing, or service-oriented businesses of all kinds will be on hand displaying their wares.   The Business Expo will take place March 5th & 6th at the American Legion in Jacksonville.
